My name is Wendy. I have created this site to capture some of the professional experiences and interests I have in Education, Technology, and Design. Those topics are on my mind whether I am at work or not, so why not write about and discussion them with others? I truly enjoy and look forward to each day that I get to spend engaged in those topics…whether I am at work supporting elementary teachers in their use of technology, online working on training materials, or at home programming, playing video games and generally hacking my computer!

Ever since I was a kid, I have loved technology. It started with a Commodore Vic20 and some computer classes I took through Community Education. I wrote my first program in the 80’s. YES, the 80’s!! It was not more than 5 lines of code or so, but it was a looping program that greeted the world with a fond HELLO! The other natural love was for teaching…When my sister was born, I was so excited to have a live-in student I could use at will (or so I liked to think). By the time she went to school, she had already “had classes” and probably was a bit confused at how public education really worked. Good thing she is a smart cookie! haha.

Years later, I have a Master’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Instructional Design and Technology. (Even as an adult, I had a hard time choosing between Education and Technology!) Continuing Ed gained me a certificate in Web Design, MCDST, A+ and Network+ as well. My work has included being a preschool, 2nd, and 5th grade teacher, an instructor for Community Education, a trainer and supervisor in the corporate word, a tech support rep and SME in telecommunications, and a Tech in I.T.
